EPA and Puerto Rican authorities unite for Environment
In the wake of rising environmental health problems, Regional Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Judith A. Enck met with the local government representatives of Puerto Rico, to discuss solutions to tackle the issue.
Potentially contaminated land/abandoned sites, solid waste crisis, higher asthma rates among people are quite a common scenario here, and people started realizing that unfavorable environmental conditions have been taking a toll on their health.
The local government authorities have promised to support Environmental Protection Agency in reducing pollution, and addressing other problems related to drinking water quality, waste disposal, and sewage treatment, to name but a few.
Kudos to Environmental Protection Agency and local government authorities for their efforts in helping improve the lives of people, in Puerto Rico.
